The hotel offers a stunning natural setting with spacious and beautifully designed rooms that overlook the ocean, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. While we loved the peaceful atmosphere and the proximity to beautiful beaches, the fitness room was underwhelming, and some furnishings seemed out of place. Overall, it’s a fantastic escape from city life.

Rooms
9.0
The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, featuring a comfortable king-size bed and a nice bathroom with a slate shower. The view of the waves crashing against the rocks added to the experience. However, it lacked air conditioning, which we personally appreciated.
Service
6.0
Service was generally friendly, but there were moments where it felt unprofessional, such as delays in cleaning our room and issues like appliances not working properly. While staff were responsive to our concerns, it felt like they could use more training.
Location
10.0
The location is breathtaking, right on the ocean and surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Being close to various beaches and nature trails made exploring a pleasure. It’s a serene escape, but it is somewhat remote, requiring a car for most activities.
Dining
7.0
Dining was a mixed bag; while the food we ordered was good, the prices were high compared to what we expected. We ended up eating out more than planned due to the steep markups.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities included a fitness room that was somewhat lacking in equipment. The overall ambiance was nice, but improvements could definitely be made, especially considering wellness options.

I had an incredible stay at BlackRock! The views from the BlackRock suite were simply breathtaking and the space was perfect for our family. However, I did find the dining experience at the hotel to be less satisfactory. Overall, the amenities and location were highlights, but a few service issues detracted from the experience.

Rooms
10.0
The BlackRock suite was massive and had a fantastic layout, with two spacious bedrooms, a full kitchen, and stunning ocean views from the balcony.
Service

While the hotel service was generally good, there were a few hiccups, particularly with the dining that could use improvement.
Location
10.0
The location is absolutely amazing with breathtaking views of the ocean and a nice quiet area.
Dining

The dining at the hotel, particularly the Fetch restaurant, was not what I expected. It left something to be desired.
Facilities

The facilities were great overall, except for one of the hot tubs being closed during our stay.

8.0/10

My stay at Black Rock Resort was a mix of highs and lows. The view from the lobby and dining areas was stunning, but my room had a few trees blocking what was promised to be a panoramic ocean view. The service varied; some staff were amazing while others could be quite unprofessional during late-night hours. Overall, it felt like a wonderful spot to relax, but the inconsistency in service definitely dampened my experience a bit.

Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious, clean, and featured unique touches like a fireplace and a large rain shower. However, the obstructed view was disappointing.
Service
6.0
Most staff members were friendly and accommodating, but I had an unpleasant experience with a front desk staff member late at night who handled a noise complaint very poorly.
Location
9.0
The resort is beautifully located on the rugged coastline, offering breathtaking views and proximity to great walking trails.
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed my dinner at the hotel restaurant; the food was beautifully presented and very tasty. However, I felt a bit rushed since the restaurant closed not long after we arrived.
Facilities
9.0
The gym was well-equipped and open 24 hours, which I appreciated. The amenities available for pets were a nice touch as well.

Our stay was quite pleasant with great storm watching right from our room. The hotel had amazing amenities and was located near beautiful walking trails. Unfortunately, we encountered some issues with service that left a less favorable impression, especially during check-in and dining where the response was slow. Overall, while the hotel offers good value and a lovely setting, the service experience could be improved.

Rooms
9.0
The room was clean, spacious, and featured fluffy towels, bathrobes, and a comfy bed. It was quite warm, but overall very accommodating.
Service
5.0
Service was hit and miss. While some staff were friendly, others were quite rude. Additionally, my request for a late check-out was charged unexpectedly, which was frustrating.
Location
10.0
The location was perfect with easy access to the Wild Pacific Trail and the ocean nearby. It was the ideal setting for enjoying the beautiful coastal environment.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a mixed experience; the food was decent but the service in the restaurant was slow, leading to a less enjoyable meal.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel facilities were solid, with great amenities for relaxation, though some aspects like the lounge TVs were not functioning during our stay.
